Kealoha: Thanks for the atmospherics. Sounds like we may be looking back on 1965, "The Year of Living Dangerously". Too long in power, too much corruption, now catching up to the regime. Blame always goes to the Chinese, probably the most productive and economically powerful group. Agree that Suharto and company are the real problem. We can only hope the explosion will remain local. But there will be spillover into the markets here, I am sure. Pity the poor in Indonesia.

Kealoha - Re: Indonesia

Thanks for the update. it sure sounds scary.

Were you on business or "pleasure" while traveling there?

Re: "...The poor folks are taking it out on the Chinese"

This seems to be an historical cop-out. Where have we seen this type of behavior before?

Paul

Kealoha - my curiousity overcomes me and must ask why on earth you would be visiting the country in the middle of a riot? The news reports today, said the riots were in 6 areas and in reading the report it sounds like at this time they (the riots) were on a rather small scale. Could you expound on your impressions i.e., is it widespread, what do the army troops do during the riot, etc.
BTW did you use the phone while in Indonesia. I invest in TLK and have a vested interest in the subject.

Thanks & Regards,
Randy
