Wow Stitch: Excellent photographs by Luke Powell indeed, thanks for the link. I kinda envy the skill of this guy as I am an amateur photographer myself and my skills are sort of dubious and arbitrary at best.

Aren't you into photography as well as an avocation? I do have a Nikon-N90 and an old Pentax. What about you ?

Stitch thanks for the Luke Powell site. Wonderful. You know I stay off this forum for a few days. I read my newspapers and I wonder what is really happening in Asia and then I come back here and I really find out.

You guys are wonderful. Wonderful. You are where it is happening. This is the greatest unravelling story of the decade.

Between times....

Yesterday, I had Sunday lunch with the former Dutch governor of Java's daughter. She grew up in Java. I asked her, amongst other things, about the Indonesian's propensity for violence. Given her background one has to discount certain statments but it was her opinion that the Indonesians were going to blame the Chinese for everything bad in their present situation.

She said, "The problem with the Indonesians is that they are a totally feckless, irresponsible people.... who always blame others for problems of their own making. They are unwilling to admit they bear any responsibility for any present problem."

This woman's brother has a factory in Indonesia and he has laid off everyone in his factory. He is heartsick all these hard working people are now in deep deep trouble with no apparent way out for them.

"Where is this going?" I asked this lady.

"Poorly. It is going poorly." The reply.

I think the question that is on the table here is, "Will the federation of Indonesia survive?"

Ideas?
