Janice, I agree with Jack and Paul. There was no tape; there was no cellophane. Just a record inserted in a paper sleeve inserted in a cardboard cover. The cover when new was tight enough to prevent the record from falling out. One extracted the record by putting Slight pressure on the two sides of the cover perpendicular to the open side.
