Just read a short documentary called "Captured by Indians" Aong the great stories an account of one of the better meals enjoyed was this. Homemade maple suger converted to syrup and then blended into liquid bear fat was stored and then used as a dip for flame broiled venison. Hmmmm! Now that is one I am putting in my book of favorites!
