A quiz:

I don't know the answer....

EW (and TA in general) cannot be predetermined (or controlled) since it is the collective (hive mind).

What if you and your buddies had the "wherewithall" to control the trading volume of...say 30 stocks (DJIA)....and say... a handful ("magnificent 7") of the remaining markets....could you control the market futures/afterhours?....would you be able to direct the stock market direction overall? Would you be able to over-ride herd mentality? Wanna bet the experiment is being tested?

The important thing is - we agree that it’s impulsive :)

That is the main thing. I think an impulsive move has the same implications as a “mini - breadth thrust”. Strength begets more strength. (They’re not directly related, of course. Saying this just to make clearer what I mean).

All those Fibonacci retracement numbers are not rules and not requirements - they simply are what typically happens. When a move is strong, retracements can be shallow. In a move like we had since late October, we may have to settle for quick, shallow consolidations.

Can it turn out to be a bunch of subdivisions of some different structure? Yes. What happens next will validate - or disprove - the current view.

All TA is about probabilities, never certainties. Which is why it makes sense to use some simple trend following overlays - to take you in or kick you out of the market… regardless of your TA.

That wave has so little structure in it because it's a shark pattern. A shark pattern identifies a failed breakout wave which results in a extreme impulse wave.

The pattern does this at the bottom of the pattern and the completion of the pattern. At completion the pattern should result in a .50 fib retracement of the pattern so fast it will make your head spin.

This is a 1.13 shark. That's when the door opens for the retracement.

There is also this possibility on the table

Kind of clanky, with lengthy, deep corrections - but, it’s an impulse.
