That's reality. And so is this: There will never be meaningful tax cuts so long as a liberal Dem occupies the WH. Any Republican effort now would just provide fodder for more Clinton-Gore demagoguery despite the fact that the overall tax burden under Clinton has risen to the greatest level in U.S. history (peace time). That's not to say that there are not Republican "wets", but they are far outnumbered.

What a disappointment to see the do-nothing, me-too behavior of those Repubs! But fright may outweigh disgust when we reflect that the Republicans may be echoing the wishes of the population. These politicians are not stupid and do what they think is politically popular (after fulfilling the desires of their big money supporters, of course.) So we may have to begrudgingly accept that a majority of the population likes big government, nanny-state policies. France and Germany, move over and make room for us! Jack
