Anyhow, I have some questions which Ney's perspective cannot give me an adequate answer (and people ask me this all the time). So this is for the experienced Neyers:

If specialists/MMs are so powerful, how come they/their firms aren't multi-gazillionaires. Many specialist firms are small units (as compared to Merrill, Bear Stearns...), you know.

And, how come brokerage houses collapse after market crashes (as in 1929 and other recessions)
