That's not true. He certainly was popular enough to outlast most of the others.

Besides, I thought you Dems said he only got elected because he was a good actor! You gotta get your stories straight.

Try watching King's Row some time. Even you will be shocked at how effective he could be with commensurate material.

Janice, the crux of the original post was that he was successful in a career OTHER than politics. If financial success is any measure of this, he certainly was successful.
