Janice, I read that last night and concluded that what you have is Drudge making a parody of Blumenthal's comments about Starr's subpoena for all of his (Blumenthal's) phone records, memos, notes etc. with regard to any conversation Blumenthal has had about Starr or his henchmen with reporters. Starr is fishing, because he feels that these leaks of past indiscretions of his staff are hindering his investigation. Not that they are not true mind you, but they are distracting, so therefore, they are obstructing the progress of his meting out justice.

In a separate issue Blumrenthal has filed a libel suit against Drudge. Hence, Drudge's re-use of the same words that Blumenthal had used about Starr. I think this is the kind of humor that you must have had to be their for. The parallels are a little shallow and obtuse for me to appreciate.
