Oh, and before people jump all over me about how we should treat fire fighters better and how amazing they are, try and wrap your heads around the fact that prisons in Cali were raided and many of the people fighting the fires in the Palisades and Eaton fires were prisoners being paid $0.70/hour. 70-cents an hour! Nobody said squat about that back in January. The California legislature passed legislation recently to bump that up to the federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour retroactively.

This is from Transparent California. The top income earners. The columns are: regular pay, overtime pay, other pay, total and then benefits and lastly grand total. Let me point out that if I want to pay myself benefits, of say $100K per year, I need to have $1M earning 5%. I had to pay tax on that $1M. Benefit and pension recipients don't have to have saved that after tax money. Also FWIW, the two top sheriff earners are at about $450K. Diego
