LC ... Carney is doing a GREAT job given the Trump craziness by adjusting to this madness better than many global leaders. Trump thought he could crush Canada’s economy as fast as Putin figured he could take the Ukraine. Carney is smart enough not to fight Trump openly while “redirecting” Canada’s economy. Does this mean he has to make adjustments to his original platform? Certainly and it’s a good thing he is doing it as recent Canadian economic numbers prove.

I think everyone, including Canadians are surprised Canada is doing so well in the face of Trumps hegemony and extortion specifically trying to break Canada. You don't even recognize a brilliant leader when you see one. You don't see the forest for the trees. I doubt any other leader in Canada could have confronted Trump and and check mated him as well as Carney is doing. He did exactly what I would have done, and what he had to do to rescue Canada. And when you think he is going against liberal values, I am sure I am as liberal as you are, plus he has surrounded himself with strong liberal women like Chrystia Freeland and Melanie Joly. Do you think they are right wing as well? Carney is god father to Freeland's kid for Christ's sake, and she is a solid liberal. You didn't see this silver's rise, and you didn't understand that South Korea is one of the great progressive democracies today. I remember when you were whining about the sexism in Korea, while overlooking the fact the women and liberal men are fighting a three thousand year old culture so much that South Korea has one of the lowest birth rates in the world because the women refuse to marry and have kids with misogynistic males! Carney has saved Canada, and I will match my liberal credentials against yours any day of the week! I spent 40 years in liberal Democratic Alaskan politics, and I know a great leader when I see one! Lone clone: "You must be referring to Americans. Almost no Canadians thought this, or think this today. We just have to endure until Mr. Racist gets his wings clipped by the US Supreme Court or in next year's US elections. Carney continues to turn his back on Canadian and liberal values, again aping Trump by cutting foreign aid even though this condemns countless children and sick people to horrible deaths.Man, did Carney hoodwink Canadian voters! It is notable that he has managed to maintain control of most of his caucus after abandoning much of the fight against climate change, and especially after stabbing BC and First Nations in the back by signing that accord with Alberta to build bitumen pipeline to BC's north coast. So far the 20 BC Liberals are keeping quiet, but they know this sharp turn to the right by Carney could cost most of them their seats in the next election. BTW, don't be misled by polls showing BC residents are split about 50-50 on the pipeline. If you dig deeper, you will find that most of the pro-pipeline support is weakly held, while the opponents are much more committed, often making it their #1 issue. I pity any company that tries to build that pipeline.
