Allen - and Rocky - Many thanks for your responses; You all are far more knowledgeable than the sales reps with whom I've spoken over the past year. Am I correct in assuming that I don't need an external drive to edit video tapes and that I can do the transfer using my hard drive? thanks

Once you have completed the editing on a section of video, you can transfer it back to video tape

newbie question: how do you tranfer from digital media back to tape? can buz do this? is it just rca jacks?
