DD, re What we are seeing here is a double-standard the likes of which may be strong enough to keep the Slickster in office for the duration.

Citizens concerned with high office corruption presently seem to be relegated to the status of ineffectual observers. We have to believe that Justice is operating; that the founding fathers gave us the best system possible in an imperfect world.

But from a personal viewpoint: If "things" continue at the present pace, (ie more scandals) one might wonder if more Dems might begin to at least voice "some" concern over what may be left of their party by the year 2001. Just a thought. Sometimes I think it would be better if the IC was a staunch Democrat. With Starr a Republican, the Dems can successfully avoid any responsibility towards taking responsibility for high office corruption. I have to believe that if Starr were a Democrat, there would be significantly fewer games being played by the WH.
