Perhaps his injury makes a convenient jumping off point in describing his mental decline, but Alzheimers seems to run a course of its own. So I am less sure of the cause and effect.

>>Some say Nancy and perhaps her astrologer were running the country. I hope Morris discusses that in his book and I would be interested in seeing his "fly-on-th-wall" take on whether or not this was true and/or how this might affect history's recording of Reagan's Administration.

It won't once people realize that Churchill used astrologers during WWII and that other of history's "greats" did the same thing throughout recorded history.

Unlike other First Ladies, Nancy never set policy - although she clearly tried, her role was as personnel manager. She backed down several times when she tried to set policy and then hit a brick wall, her husband. That astrologer business was limited to setting dates for certain scheduled events - a conceit her husband allowed her after his near-assassination.
