Aki and thread,
Some food for thought about Japanese market.

biz.yahoo.com

Is there an iceberg ahead in the fog or just ice cubes? Seems like
the Japanese companies/management keep things hidden until the
iceberg has been struck and the ship is sinking and can't be saved.

BTW, the Japanese market is currently up. Will it remain afloat or
slowly sink due to an ineffective policy.

OK, GM I'm over the iceberg/Titanic analogies now.<VBG>

Akidron,

That's fine and am glad for you if that is the case. My problem
is the inconsistencies of your position depending whether you own the stock or not.

Here's the position Feb.1,1998 after you bought the stock.

Message 3317487

Are you telling me that after you sell the stock, now the Japan situation and ASIA is a BIG problem. That whole situation changed in 3 weeks? (after you sell?)

And you expect AMAT management to have a clear vision past 6-9 months while you change your position only after 3 weeks?

Roly

***OT akidron***You're not going to have any money to buy AMAT shares if you don't cover your CPQ short!!! CPQ is the most undervalued tech out there, IMHO. What is your reasoning to short this stock? Up 18 fold since 92, up 92% in '97, and still stealing market share like nobody's business. Hope you've covered.
