Stock Bull, > Reliability testing has been around forever
and, the test methods are clearly documented in various
military and commercial standards.

Exactly. Maybe the court doesn't understand this?
I can't believe Iomega would deviate from those
standards, especially not in this case.

>>Or, they conducted the reliability tests without regards to the standards. Somehow I doubt this....IOM quality/reliability engineers can't be that stupid.<<

Stupid??? No.

But one has to wonder what motives are behind Iomega's Nomai disc tests. All you have to do is harken back to the infamous NBC News "tests" of a GM Pickup which was rigged to explode.

This is the effect that $$$ has on scientific analysis.

>>All IOM needs to do is conduct their testing to one or more of these standards and publish the results.<<

SB -

Iomega did better than that. They had the testing performed by three different independent testing labs. I think it's reasonable to suppose that the independent labs used standard methodologies in performing the tests.

As for the one person on this thread who has questioned the validity of the tests, I can only say that his own bias is obvious.
