jhild, The slang term "Whatta maroon" has been around since at least the 50's. Bugs Bunny used the term more than once in old Looney Tunes cartoons. It was indeed a takeoff on "moron" and no ethnic slurs were intended. BTW, this thread is degenerating into personal attacks and flames. I, for one, wish it would return to the spirit which the title implies. Regards, JB
