Bay has always had a strong restriction against
giving quarter information/feelings from the beginning of the
last month of the Q until earnings.
Information is a corporate asset. There is value to
controlling the flow and timing of all information.
The company loses value when information is leaked.
It is the job of the analysts to try to pry information
from people for their personal benefit.
I haven't heard of any special gag order for this quarter,
but Bay has always prosecuted people who leak corporate secrets.
You don't want information to leak. It reduces value
and the stock price will have adjusted for it long
before you could trade on the info.
