You are better off to phone syquest at (510 226 4000) to obtain information regarding the 4.7 GB removable drive or anything else. You cannot depend on information provided by the bulls or bears on this thread.
I talked to the IR officer at Syquest and this is the information I have:
1. They have tripled their production and increased their manpower in their Far East factory by 500 employees.
2. The Quest is being beta tested by their OEM's and will go in production by the middle of next summer.
3. Management has been buying loads of SYQT shares.
4. The company does not predict when it will return to profitability. This is a volume dependent business and when they can bring the production level to meet the demand level then we may see a positive ROI.

Please phone the IR officer to verify for yourself.

Maher

FireWire Heats Up Digital Video
New products use high-speed interface
By Brooke Wheeler

FireWire, the high-speed digital-bus interface also known as IEEE 1394, is igniting a new generation of authoring tools for digital-video producers. While Apple has been slow to incorporate FireWire into its motherboards--that's slated to happen by the end of the year--developers are rushing to market with digital-video systems that take advantage of FireWire's blazing 400MBps transfer rates.

Adaptec Connects FireWire-based video-editing systems typically include a PCI card, FireWire cable, and QuickTime authoring software. Three vendors, ProMax (714/727-3977, www.promax.com), Pinnacle Systems (650/526-1600, www.pinnaclesys.com), and DPS (606/371-5533, www.dps.com), have unveiled systems based on Adaptec's new HotConnect Ultra 8945, which features three FireWire connectors and an Ultra Wide SCSI accelerator on a single board.
