Re "enterprise hardware or software dating from 1982 or 1983"

Didn't they buy a system from ITWO 6 months or so ago?

Its a tandem system. Its a mid-80s box. I think the hardware has been upgraded a few times but the software is the same stuff they were taking orders with from day one. its custom COBOL code. But dont take my word for it, ask the rep the next time you place an order.

You are correct to be technically accurate I should have said "13 1/2 year old mainframe", or whatever age it is.

Barry, Re: "Lets see, that would be a 1982-83 computer. I think it is probably safe to say that Dell has no
enterprise hardware or software dating from 1982 or 1983."

Like the bumper sticker says on the clunky car "it may not look pretty, but it's paid for."
