Robert, addressing your two points.

First Microsoft has two development teams one for the intel platform and the other for the Mac platform. So in theory if the MAC team is better or there are less problems, Software may be available sooner on the MAC.

Second, IBM and Motorola would not drop development of the Power PC since there are alot of other applications and companies that rely on the Power PC. Personally I have designed in the PPC into two applications and if they where to slow development or drop it I would never look to them again for solutions. This goes a thousand times over, which makes the Apple market somewhere less than 50% total of all PPC chips sold.

Robert,

I don't see how your link contradicts anything I said. I own Apple stock and wish the G4 were faster than the Merced, but I try to consider all the information available to me and keep my eyes open.

Also, the 400 Mhz copper Power PC is a big disappointment. If they couldn't find one at 600 Mhz, they are in trouble (unless they are sand bagging).

Pravin.
