I've been actively following this stock and have been on the verge of buying. That is, until I actually used ONSL.

Last Wed, I was one of 50 top bidders to receive a 56K fax/modem. I received e-mail notification that my order would process and should ship in 4-5 days.

Late in the evening, Thursday, I received a call from a gentleman claiming to be on a shipping dock. He sounded like he'd been drinking and said the "money was no good" for my order and his accounting department wanted him to call me. He also told me to call his boss, who "had a drinking problem," if I had any questions. The number he gave was for a Steven Price and it was a pager service...not likely his boss. Obviously, this was a prank call as he also said I had 100 modems sitting on the dock that would not ship until the card was approved (only 50 were sold).

Here's my concern: This guy had my phone number, name, and address. I have to assume the worst and recognize he could very well have my credit card number.

Yesterday morning, I called Onsale and the modem manufacturer. Neither company really cared about the incident.

Deservingly or not, Onsale will not receive any more of my business and I'm spreading the word. Compromise of data is very important, IMO and Onsale was not the slightest bit interested in where the compromise of my information happened. It was obvious to me that the young man I spoke to at Onsale's customer service was not interested in helping me.

Just thought I would share a story with you all. IMO, ONSL offers some good products for good prices, but it's not worth the risk.
