Let me reiterate. Support for a politician is viewed as containing two vital components--money and votes. In the overall picture, how much of either do you think NOW actually can contribute to a candidate? Let me ask you this. Do you believe that the majority of women out there who are undecided on how to view the sordid details of the President's current problems would find solace in what NOW, Patricia Ireland or any other feminist group has to say? Could it not also be said that there is a very real possibility that a majority of women Clinton voters have no connection with any feminist organization whatsoever nor care to be? Even if only a minority were to be taken into consideration, couldn't it be said that this could still add up to a substantial number? In either regard isn't there a very real possibility that Patricia Ireland and NOW could be excluded as being a viable source of direction for these women? If so, then can you name one single woman's organization that has been given a single sound bite in regards to Mr. Clinton's current and past "affairs" other than NOW and Patricia Ireland? Hey, I would settle for the Daughter's of the Revolution!! What I trying to convey is that for too long Patricia Ireland and NOW has been portrayed as being the standard bearer of women's issues which is disingenuous. Their name should be changed to NOF, the National Organization of Feminist. It would be more accurate. Not all women are feminists and yet they vote and are completely unrepresented by media pundits. Instead they are forced to take a seat in the back of the bus. Just ask yourself, when was the last time you saw Phyllis Schlafly on any news program.
