How interesting that you know more about the Teutonic Knights than I do. Quickly, without going to another thread to look it up,
where was their main monastery? Where were they summoned in what country to be "Inquisitioned" by the king?

Henry,
That is an honest and accurate understanding of the Teutonic Knights in their relationship to the Slavs. You forgot one key ingredient--Rome.
The leadership of the Roman Church wanted to crush Orthodox Christians in the east so they encourged and gave their blessings to the Teutonic Knights to crush slavic Orthodoxy.
From this conflict arose the greatest political and military hero of the Russian slavs---Nevsky.
Orthodox Christianity survived and some of the leaders in Rome moved to their next project.
