"If you expect AMAT to trade at 1*Sales in the current climate, I believe that you have your head buried in the sand or some other equally dark place. ;-)"

What does this suggest that she is doing? This is not a personal attack? Her suggestion that AMAT could drop a lot from here is not based on logic when the fact is that amat does trade towards 1X sales on the terrific volatility that it has had over time?

Mind you I believe that amat has about a 50-50 chance of seeing the 20's again. In this climate, the mid 20's are unlikely. But let us not believe that it cannot happen, or we are doing ourselves an injustice.

Ian,
I have found that Teri does provide a balanced bull/bear posting
pattern. She is doing a lot of industry research. By posting the
more informative ones and not the "specualtive" ones it adds more
credibility to the reality of the industry conditions at the moment.
I have a disdain for the analysts as they are paid by the big firms
and have a conflict of interest relative to average investors. Teri
is not getting paid but is contributing her research findings for
teh benefit of the thread/investors. Why would she have a personal
motive for skewing the information, she wouldn't benefit or profit
from it. Think about it.
