Betty, Heck, most of the casinos now offer free 24-hour daycare for the youngins. Circus Circus was the first to institute this back in the late 1970s. Holly

Genoa is as you said a former Mormon settlement, the oldest in Nevada and remains where they first built it tucked under the Sierra in the shadow of Freel Peak, also known as Heavenly Valley Ski Area, just North of the Kingsbury Grade road in Carson Valley. When there next, don't miss the Pink House, great steaks, great ambiance.

What the name of Las Vegas was prior, I have no idea, but Genoa it was not.
