Earl, we would get all the things you mentioned if we passed a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting lawyers from running for any public office. Lawyers are the most self-serving people in the country.

<<Hi Jim, I keep hearing about tax reform, privatization of Social Security, campaign finance reform, term limits etc. However, the Republican dominated congress seems to just react to Clinton, rather than present substantive programs of their own. I may give up and vote for a third party by the year 2000.>>

They tried that in '96. Clinton used the Bully Pulpit to accuse the Republicans of starving the children and elders and shut down the government. Newt was the most hated man in America for trying to do what the congress was elected to do. The public was sucked in bt Clinton's lies as promoted by the media.

Earl.
Remember, Ross Perot effectively split the conservatice vote during the last two elections. Without Ross Perot, George Bush defeats Clinton in his initial bid for the White House, and consequently, Clinton would have disappeared into history as an also ran. Anyone voting for Perot unintentially aided in the election of Clinton. In the future, Perot must be ignored to assure success in defeating the socialists.
