I wouldn't be surprised if the company's
listed in your post had Cymer in their house.
But we were not privied the information until now.
Just a thought...Jeff

To all, interesting article from Merrill Lynch guru on expected near term weakness in semiconductor profits (but not unit sales) due to "commoditization" of PC business. What are the implications for CYMI?

Tulvio RE: "all the US companies that got a late start with DUV "

Well, sort of. Deep UV using Hg bulbs has been around for along time.
Also, I remember last year Cymer was limiting it's list to customers
with systems in production. I don't know if that is true this year
or not. If so, then remember, 0.25um production started only last
fall which explains the small size of the list in October vs. now.

I suspect that US DUV efforts have been at least as strong as the
Asian companies efforts. Remember the Koreans and Japanese are
heavily in DRAM, and i-line extension into 0.25um for DRAM is much
easier that i-line extension in 0.25um for logic ICs.

Do you think this is due to lack of foresight, or could IBM, MOT, etc. be going to something like EUV and X-Ray, skipping DUV? Is that possible?
