Normet did microscope work. A ten year old would have seem the problem.
Gee dad, how come if this gold went through a grinder its all smooth like
pebbles in a stream and so big? Whats wrong?

samples warning bells start ringing. Its their business,. they assay
rocks for a living. Somebody knew something smelled to high heaven.

I know I would be screaming bloody murder.
