Maxwell, haven't seen you over at Cymer lately. Are you still holding it? Nice run yesterday(for a change).

Steve

Maxwell:
Is there anyone in a sober mind who would believe
that this miracle of mechanical engineering (even
without SDRAM chips):
cpu-central.com

can be manufactured cheaper than this one:

alternativecpu.com

Waiting for comments from experts.

Maxwell, I don't think your friend, however well intentioned, is providing you with accurate data. We don't disclose yields but I hope your expectations are higher than those of your friend.

John Hull

Max, Re: "For those who say that high yielding lots have higher reliability chip than low yielding lot, YOU
NEED TO GET A JOB IN THE SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY."

I think there's a guy named Paul Engel, who posts here, that worked in the semi industry for a time, and he seems to be agreeing with me.

Maxwell - Re: "Yield of 0.35um PII: Excellent, consistently 60%+ in production Yield of 0.25um PII: Getting Better, 20%-35% in production."

April Fool's Day was yesterday.

For those who say that high yielding lots have higher reliability chip than low yielding lot, YOU NEED TO GET A JOB IN THE SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY. That statement is completely not true. There are few cases when that is true but most of the time the two events are uncorrelated.

The statement is absolutely true. In my experience, it is usually found that on a low-yielding wafer, those dice that yield are usually borderline acceptable, prone to early failure.

Yield of 0.35um PII: Excellent, consistently 60%+ in production

I thought a good Intel yield on a mature process was 95% so I would think their definition of "Excellent" would be at or above this. True?

Topic#2...
Is Intel floating down to bargain levels again? :
suite101.com
or is it a $65 stock like I heard someone on the radio say today?
