I have no idea, and neither do you. It doesn't really matter. She could have been genuinely happy for an opportunity to meet the Governor of her state. Unless the trooper specifically stated to her "hey gal, Bill Clinton wants to see you in his hotel room alone, and I think he's got sex on his mind." a reasonable person might assume that one could safely go into a hotel room with a state governor without being assaulted.

I don't think anyone would mistake Paula Jones as being a 'worldly' person. She's an average person who was probably flattered the governor would want to see her. It's reasonable to assume he would want to talk to her about almost anything other than sex. Sex would be the last thing one would assume a governor of the state would have on his mind at that time of the early evening in a crowded hotel. Could a reasonable person expect that a governor would have sex on his mind when he sends someone to ask you to meet him in his hotel/conference room. Remember this room had no bed-it was set up as a meeting/conference room. If this is the standard against which all men are to be judged then at no time could a woman expect to meet alone with a male head of state/CEO/ambassador, etc. w/out an escort because it would be expected he would make a play for her.

Sounds like the law of the jungle instead of a civilized society ruled by laws.
