roger,

You are very good, and it is through such discourse that one gets clarity of thought and direction.

You've also voiced some of my feelings as well, which has tempered me not to immediate plunge with big bucks on a put position.

Unfortunately with the doubts I currently am holding, I can't see taking a position in CHKPF until just before earnings, maybe for a day only even at that.

The only argument I can finally add, and it is the weakest of all arguments, is that the market doesn't feel right. I've been watching the business channel since I was seven, before CNBC, CNN, etc. I used to watch channel 26 in Chicago, making mental purchases on Winnabego, Coke, etc. As a teen, I made mental purchases of Conoco, and some co's that were taken over. I actually had Pilsbury before Grand Met's take over and SGAT at its 5 year low. I've got a degree in Finance and an MS in info systems, read most every legitmate finance book out there, and when it comes right down to it, it just doesn't feel right.

I'm reminded of the film Kagemusha, where the primary Samuri says, "Hold firm like a mountain," or Lau Tze, "When those around your are in a torrent be as a calm stream."

Could be I've lost my nerve?

Good luck on your position.

I Love this stock.

$1500 net profit in 3 weeks.
But valuation is a concern. If it wasn't, why did this stock go from $50 to $32 in the blink of an eye 4q-97. I like it for its volatility. You seem to have no problem touting overpriced products. I suppose you buy $2/baskets of strawberries, $3/lb aspargras, 50cents/lb bananas, out of season tomatoes etc....Anyone who bragged about paying those prices for those kind of products would be stoned with rotten fruit.
If you want it bad enough, you can have it or wait for a better price just like fresh fruit & veggies.
I'll make this comment once again. Checkpoint has virtually no chance of getting any contracts with the federal government, domestic or military due to their origin. Fed contracts are a cash cow & they won't be participating in this opportunity.
