Wow! You really don't care a whit about potential shareholder litigation do you? What do you suppose pension funds and mutual funds would do?

What would the end result be? Dell would still be alive, ALL the big PC companies would have taken a tremendous financial beating, and then things would revert back to where they were with Dell having a superior business model. It's a no win situation and it's not
going to happen to the extreme mass suicide degree you might think possible.

I'm sure these guys would get together a decide destroying their
balance sheets and shareholder value would be a "good idea".<g>

These guys despite all of their resources are not in a position to
put Dell out of business and they know it.

It's more than my impression that IBM, HWP and CPQ have given their
best shot to derail Dell. These guys have tried everything to date.
They know that with the scenario you describe, they would inflict more
damage on their own businesses than they would on Dell and Dell would
still be around.

If you wage war and don't completely destroy your opponent yet
weaken yourself more than your opponent, you lose.
