Mazman: Your point on travel vs. telecommunication is a favorite topic of mine going back 30 years. After a slow start, telecommunications is now just beginning to explode. My prediction is that telecommunications over the next 20 years will make all other previous works of man look small in comparison.

I'm a die-hard conservative so even the notion of donating to the Sierra Club is unbelievable to me. You did make a good choice in picking WCOM though. One thing that surprises me is that radically liberal groups like the Sierra Club would even align with business (a.k.a. the enemy), but I guess the prospect for more donations will let them loosen their idealoligy somewhat.
