Don't be sad. It's like being sad we only have two legs instead of three. It is the NATURE of government to be wasteful and corrupt. And it's not that we just need better people in government. It turns good people into wasteful corrupt people. This is why it's so important to stop it's cancerous growth.

That was an excellent quote and very fitting.

Jack, do you feel that it is a current problem or a historical problem in the U.S. as well as most countries of the world? I am of the opinion that these "corrupt" individuals have been rampant throughout history with any type of political system. Perhaps, the current nature of the media is giving the false impression that these things are only occurring currently. Almost every political system in History has more "dishonourable" people than "honourable". What do you think?

They were talking about the Church of Rome, but I think we could apply it equally to the current United States political system. And it is sad.

Oh come now, Jack. You want REAL corruption in American politics, go back to the last quarter or so of the 19th century...
