Hi, John -- <<I would hardly call a judge of the federal appeals court and solicitor general a shill of the right wing.>>

Check out what he was doing before and during the first few weeks of his appointment as IC. He was hired by the Governor of Wisconsin - over the protests of the Legislature and the Wisconsin Atty General - to come and lobby (IE represent the "state") the WI Supreme Court over using tax money to support religious schooling. That, John, is shilling - not judging, and certainly not soliciting generals!<G>

His legal career and his conduct as IC are hardly what one would call "distinguished". Appellate Court and SG are political appointments, and have very little to do with qualifications or professional standing. In fact, the legal community generally aspire to much higher (read: more lucrative) positions.

<<Travesty of justice>> He has failed the "appearance of scandal" standard of conduct repeatedly in his failure to ID and stop the incessant leaks from his staff. He has made his office the object of disrespect - even amusement - in the legal community and in the general public. And I believe that he has used his office and the investigation for his personal gain.

He has, in short, done for his Office of the IC what Clinton has apparently done for the Office of the President.
