Any reason that SEBL is up 9.5% today? I wonder if I should just cover my short and go long.

It's always nice to make a small profit on a no-brainer. With LEAP I also took a small position. I thought it could go to 10 before 5 again. Also, was looking at NASI but they are doing a 3 for 2 split I'll take a look at it after the split.

Nice move, Roger. I just got back to my computer, but the whole internet market looked weak at the end. In fact, I tried to short one of them at the close but there wasn't an up bid so I lost out. I feel like if INTC comes out with some downer numbers and statements the market including even the internet balloons could tank, right from the get go tomorrow. Too bad I couldn't get in. Which brings me to a question about shorting. I know you need an uptick to short. Could I have told my broker, buy me 100 shares at the market and then using that uptick immediately sell short 1000 shares? Is this legal? If so it seems like the perfect way to get around that damn uptick rule.
I am expecting a correction here, but I think it may be over with by the time MSFT reports earnings next week. And then maybe another run to 10K. I just hope tomorrow the market doesn't open way down so us shorters can get into some decent positions. All depends on intel, though...

Joey, covered my LEAP short at 4 3/4 for a 2 1/2 point gain in 24 hours. Not bad. Just wish I had taken a larger position. This one was obvious in hind sight.

Nice work. That was a great pick - thanks.

Roger, the TokyoMex thread seems to be a source of advance notice on good shorts, it you can read fast enough to keep up with it. I also just made the easiest/fastest money ever today on LEAP. You may not be able to buy these pumps early enough but you get advance notice on the short time. So long as you let it break first.
Patrick.

Roger,

If I remember correctly, you predicted an acceleration in Y2K fear-mongering. It's officially arrived on SI.

Subject 20268

Y2K disaster preparedness. They're talking about buying generators, guns, wood stoves, stocking up on food, water, gold coins, closing brokerage and savings accounts.

Unbelievable.
