>>The performance isn't possible without the high end SCSI now and in the future<< Excuse me, but I think you have your head in the sand. At the high end, SCSI is very vulnerable to Fibre Channel. An engineer friend who works for a manufacturer of high end RAID systems says they have gone to 100% fibre channel internally. The move to external fibre channel is only a matter of time. This doesn't mean that ADPT can't keep going, just that they must meet the challenge and move forward with the technology. If they rest on their laurels it spells disaster for all of us who are long ADPT (as I am).

My personal view is that SCSI will disappear over the next 5 years to be replaced by fibre channel and/or USB at the desk top.

The real bucks are in FibreChannel. SCSI only allows connects in the same room, while FC allows you to connect blocks away. Of course this relates - today - to larger systems, but thats where the big bucks are. Firewire, don't think so.
