JCD: It's not so much the earnings as the statements looking forward from the report and the conference call that I am anticipating. Although we may be surprised positively by the Q4 earnings--I'm in the dark as much as any of us--chances for that just don't seem that good. We haven't seen any earnings information from the company this year that in any shape or form is encouraging. If we are lucky, the "horrible" earnings will be on the lower end of analyst projections and represent profits, as usual; that won't surprise anyone, and we can put the year behind us.
We certainly don't have any "irrational exuberance" hiding in the stock price now, so up is the most likely direction. I am long and betting with confidence that's where it's going.
I have noticed numerous articles over the past month concerning computer OEM products--primarily servers/workstations--coming with Adaptec cards. This is retrenchment time for the company and a good time for accumulating, in my view.
