Paul,

<< Yes for NUMA-Q. Moreover, Sequent has an installed base of Corporate Customers using their (Sequent's) transaction servers. >>

Thanks for your opinion.
On a separate note, from reading a little on the MSFT comments about how the repercussions would impact a lot more than them if the DOJ stops Win98, I was wondering if you thought that our politicians in the years ahead should have more technical/engineering type backgrounds to run for office? It seems all too clear these days (well, a few years ago, actually) that our politicians and laws are having way too much trouble keeping up with technology. Well, even too many analysts, are finding this out. ;-) Things could get a lot worse than they are right now. :-(

all imho

I'm not certain that it is a requirement for politicians to have a brain.

An engineering/technical background requirement for politicians exceeds all hope for a Major Miracle.

It will never happen.

Pigboy said: "Should I assume NUMA with Merced is the huge difficulty?"

Paul said: "Yes for NUMA-Q."

I don't understand, Paul. If Sequent could implement the NUMA-Q technology with Pentium Pros, why couldn't they "map" it over to Merceds, when they are available? I may be missing something here.

If Sequent is serious about the super powerful server market, they'd better be planning on using Merced.
