MRVC needs the support of strong institutional investors, Currentl BEST, ML, and VOLP are the main supporters. If ML is the new investment banker than you have all the ML brokers supporting and talking up MRVC. Right now the only support comes from us renagades on the small BB. And from the tone I would call you guys weak hands, which means as soon as the stock has one bad day you are out!!

I watch this stock and the MM are easly pushed which means they are holding very little inventory.

Sector Investor:

Could it be that all of the questions you ask are questions that investors in any stock experiencing a "market inefficiency" ask? Such inefficiencies can last a long time for reasons seemingly unfathomable. With the top and bottom line growth rate that we have, the inefficiency will not last a long time - though for holders of a year or two that may sound sour.

Very few stocks of this growth track record are shunned beyond reason. We can see ourselves as victims of inexplicable forces that in total add up to a dead stock. Our savior is the numbers that cannot be ignored much longer. (I expect Xyplex to be profitable this quarter because they're selling "NBase Inside" product.)

IBD reports that 59 funds hold MRVC. When the proof of the numbers becomes too much to ignore, that number will rise into the hundreds.

<<< What is the cause of the poor perception? Is it a general feeling that small networking companies can't compete against CSCO in the long run? Or what?

Anyone? >>

IMHO, this should not be a mystery. It's not a poor perception, it's no perception. There are thousands of companies out there, & most of them are sending out press releases saying nothing every other day, jumping around saying buy me!! buy me!! at anyone that looks like an investor, while poor little MRVC sits on it's hands over in the corner smiling & pointing at all those quarters of consecutive earnings growth. And that's fine, but the question is "What are you going to do for me tomorrow?" And that's where MRVC is lacking, they do nothing to help the investor "connect the dots" pointing toward continued expanding earnings growth in the future. Where are the all contract announcements?, Where are all the strategic alliance announcements? Where are all the plans to conquer the world? What does the new investor see in MRVC's future? Big fuzzy question marks. And that's the one thing that will cause them to continue browsing else were.

And another thing (as long as I'm already going on a good rant)!! That want ad for a IR person does not sound very reassuring either. "Light secretarial" ... sheesh!!! sounds like they are looking for an administrative assistant(i.e. secretary type), not an executive. I would think you would want someone who has been with the company "for ever" in that position, not a newbie. Someone who knows the company inside & out, someone who can sound and respond to questions with knowledgeable and responsive answers, not with a, "uhh, I don't know, but I will find out and get back to you." The IR contact will usually be the first direct contact an investor has with the company, & first impressions always last. I hope I'm wrong, but this ad sure sounds to me like the company is trying to maintain a "wall of ignorance" between management and the investors.

OK, I'm done now, I'll go back and sit in my corner.

Actually, I think the outlook for MRVC is not all that bad. I am really surprised that we haven't dropped a lot closer to 20 since earnings were announced. It could be that we are finally getting close to having all those secondary shares in the hands of long term investors. If that's the case, we could see some serious up side movement(inspite of managements apparent lack of concern).

Keeps this as a great buy opportunity...long term. I'm trading this stock more than I ever have. I don't trade big size, I keep most as a long position, but i'll sell into the rally's and buy into the dips. Not the daily ones, the technical ones. Things are screaming at the company. Rumor is still on the street that Northern Telecom is looking for a networker. One thought is that if someone bought both Bay and MRVC they would get a combined solution with enough of a client base to really make a go at Cisco. I think that a combination like that makes sense and MRV's Edgeblaster is one heck of a product and with Voice as the next hot product there's reason to think that finally there is a reason to buy this company outright. IDEA - Look at both WAVO and GMGC. Both have investment by MSFT and have a good voice technology. GMGC was $1 in 12/97 and is over $10 now. Wow! (Nope, didn't own any.)

Good luck
