How many accessed the WWW anywhere 5 yrs ago. None. How many now?
Multi-multi-millions.

This is more hyperbole from you. There were millions accessing the net 5 years ago internationally.

I am asking for specifics not hyperbole.

Right now I have messages out to people overseas asking them how much they pay. You say telephone costs are going down. Do you have specifics to back that up?
Have you asked your internet acquaintances how they are accessing the net?

Do you have any specifics as to how many people can access via cable here in the US? or how long it will be just in the US before cable companies are able to expand. I dont have that information. However, Time Warner is my cable company and they have no idea when they will be able to expand to include access to the net and how much it costs them.

I do not say that the internet is going nowhere.

I do say that there are alot of factors out there to be considered when trying to make a profit off of it, including cultural factors.

I do say that making money off the net is an issue and it seems many of you just take it as a given...

I do not know what the statistics are for a company to become profitable after the start-up. How do you justify the valuations of these companies? It is a good thing you wouldnt take a class by Buffett or you would flunk if you could give him an answer to that.
You spoke about the explosive growth of the internet in the last 5 years. That is about how long SEEK has been around and after that explosive growth they still havent turned a profit.

More growth doesnt mean justification of the current valuation level

and

I do take issue with your statements..such as "I guarantee every stock Buffett owns will be an internet stock" etc etc etc etc...

Here is a post from someone much more knowledgable on the international front than I am...and more eloquent..and I think he sums up how I feel about it
