fuza-who is going to manufacture these planes? this aspect of the plan is very important in terms of validation of the project--is the manufacturer tooled up to accept orders for these aircraft, etc?...anyone know anything about this? what about aircraft certification-faa, etc...? mike

Fuza -- Yes, the answer is technology. maybe, just maybe, all these people pushing satelites just tried to use the best technology and it might prove too expensive.

Lucent just bought that small ATM company. Lucent was probably overengineering and found out the hard way that somebody to do it cheaper. They made 4 acquisitions of small companies with great technology, paying a fortune for them but rolling out to 20 times the customers.

Sounds good to me.
