The man is trying to teach the parrot to cook. Hence the dirty dishes. Get it?

Please, just drop it. The parrot has been sent to the White House. It is now a very private matter and there is no need to pry into what the parrot did in the past. However, for your piece of mind, there is no longer any need for the parrot to learn how to do the dishes. Nor will the parrot be trained to do anything unnatural, like talk.

There is absolutely no relation to the coming of the parrot and the dismissal of 18 interns. Indeed no one will say if the parrot even came, or will come in the future.

John, "If I can teach this bird to cook, you're outta here," says the man to his wife.

The parrot can do everything but cook. If he could, then the guy would get rid of his wife.
