EDLF, I meant that it doesn't matter to ME, whether it's 6 months or 12 months before we are sold, I cannot speak for how others might feel about this. I personally have tried to shy away from using dates with respect to when something is suppose to happen with DCI, whether it's got to do with aquisitions or the sale of the company. It's nice to have target dates, but it's unrealistic to cast these in concrete IMO given the potential for unforseen delays to expect Joe to keep a certain timeline.

VI,

I agree we need to keep our expectations in check so we don't get get get socked when things don't unfold as fast as everybody would like. For a reality check, every once in a while I go back to read JJ's analysis pointed to in the header of this thread. Although quite a few of the details have changed (e.g., the WorldPass deal), it's still the closest thing I've seen to an estimate of valuation based on forward looking earnings I've seen to date.

Hey bait,
You are correct that things must be kept in perspective. It does not do anyone any good to get carried away and expect the moon. But, it also does not hurt to try and speculate using a rational basis for that speculation. As far as DCI being sold this year, anything is possible. All it would take is for a valid offer to be put on the table and in front of the shareholders for the stock price to start moving. If the deal is consummated this year great, if not, then next. But, if Joe has the chance to bring those synergies to bear then the asking price could very well be going up. I do my very best not to hype this stock but just tell it like I see it. There are disappointed people in every stock that think that this or that should have happened and cry when it does not. So be it, we are not here to hold anyones hand, just give our opinions as to what we see. As for trying to keep hype or great expectations under control, those people are going to over believe no matter what. There is nothing we can really do about it<JMO>.
