Today, Delivering Good News Is a Way
To Ensure Good Business Relationships

By MICHAEL SICONOLFI
Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

NEW YORK -- David Londoner, a Schroder & Co. analyst, emerges from a
rough meeting with one of his firm's top clients. Leonard Fertig, president of
Central European Media Enterprises Ltd., has just griped that though Mr.
Londoner is upbeat on CME for the long haul, his short-term earnings forecast
is "unduly pessimistic" and could hurt their companies' relationship.

Katherine,

Is there a simple description for the layman (or is that a description
for a simple layman?) of Damascene and Dual Damascene in the context
of Deposition or Etch that you could provide? ... or point me too?

Thanks,

Ian.

AMAT just won't die...it's hard for me to believe it
has the fundamentals to justify its current separation from
the pack. Even in today's horrible market, it goes up.

Hallelujah Sister! <g>

Shane (thanks for the pointer to the good WSJ article - a tad chilling but I guess not surprising. Fortune had a similar article several months ago esp. as it related to semi-analysts. Actually, truth be told, Kurlak is a lot like Mr. Londoner - he does not give a rat's behind about the investment banking thing. I get the feeling Robbie's boy Dan Niles is just the opposite - he appears to be upping the ratings and painting the rosy canvases just to get the future business. And think about it - for semis and semi-equips this is a gold mine of an Investment Banking business. AMD and now MU just gave Niles three stars. ML's Kurlak is on his own. Like you, I too agree with his overall comments - just not sure about the timing...)
