I never said that I was in favor of this lawsuit. No monopoly can survive forever, and this industry is very fast moving. Something will come along and supplant MSFT. Usually government interference causes a temporary blockage, than the market recovers its competitive spirit and off it goes again.

Since it appears that this has become the "defend MSFT thread" it is apparent that some don't want to discuss the possible angles the DOJ will use against MSFT, nor do they wish to accept that this is going forward whether they like it or not. Since I have no vested interest in MSFT or any other software company, I enjoy the nuances of the suit as it comes forward, and can't wait to see how MSFT and the DOJ thrust and parry.

Scotsman, if you open your mind to the truth, you will find that PC
OEMs are not forced to preload MS-Office, in spite of whatever
false and misleading soundbites you hear.

Now there's an effective argument. Who needs to actually read contracts these days? Just open your mind and the truth will enter.

I bought my computer from Zeos (later bought by Micron) in 95. Lotus Office software was included. I asked if I can get some credit back by not taking the software. They said I have no choice. Obviously they put Lotus Office software on all the PCs they sold for a better deal, not unlike what Microsoft might have done.

I still have the Lotus Office software unopened right now, of course, worthless.
