Nobody seems to get it - It took years for the West to recover from the Great Depression and Eastern Europe from the collapse of communism. Why do all these US commentators think "Asian recovery" is a real prospect any time soon. I'd argue that the descent is still underway.

Interesting how they come to totally different conclusions. How can increasingly cheap imports not hurt earnings of US companies, unless the products being exported to the US are all different than what is being produced in the US?

How important is reduced demand for energy in the Asian countries and how long will that continue? Any body think we have seen the lows for
energy prices, yet?
