Hi George, I've been hanging out on some "data storage company" threads for some time and have attempted to keep my finger on the pulse of FC, so to speak. I think it's slow to take-off because users are content with RAID and DLT. The adage applies, "if it ain't broke... "

BoxHill lost a lot of money for me in their past Q when they put all their eggs in the FC basket, according to them, too early. They said, however (and I don't necessarily believe this is "lift-off"), that beginning in March, FC sales began doing well.

To me, it's like the difference between a Pentium and a Pentium II. If the Pentium is doing everything I need, why buy a PII just because it does it a second faster.

Greg

G.D: Fibre sales are increasing. That increase means other products are being displaced. That trend is only going to increase if Fibre costs are trimmed. In brief, the margins on the products being displaced will be under greater pressure with time.

Does anyone know how ADPT places in sales of the newer technologies.

Thx.
