Doug: Re. "In the middle of a technology transition, the acquisition of SYMBIOS can be a millstone."

Or a milestone. Or a lodestone. Or a whetstone. Or a keystone. But millstone? I might agree, if the acquisition occurred before the start of what appears to be a technology transition. That Adaptec entered into the deal after feeling the effects of the transition suggests to me that Symbios is intended to assist in the transition, not drag the company down. Just a quibble. I agree wholeheartedly with you on the transition issue.

And thanks to Arthur for highlighting the MF article.

Doug, just to comment on comprehending the M.F. article; have you read it? They don't consider the Symbios acquisition as any kind of a millstone! They see it as deft opportunity grabbing of the kind that can turn a sitution if repeated. Not that the article is worth this level of preciseness, but I sure would like to see this level on this ADPT thread.

The article was meaningless to anyone following this company with a half hearted interest and a handful of experience in the tech stocks. It's certainly worth pointing out, but I want to make sure we deal with it; hold it up or tear it apart. You heard my analysis. That's what we are here for; to publicly discern the quality of anything put on the table. For me, it's not about being nice; it's about being certain of what we are talking about. This is hard fought money we are talking about in the end.
